Founded 1832, acquired present status and title 1993. Russian federal state-owned higher education institution. It is the oldest architecture university in the country. It is also well known as one of the leading scientific-analytical centres in Russia. SPbGASU has international cooperation with other academic institutions, government agencies and private organizations.
