Founded 1949 as Shandong and Henan area second Normal School, later known as Provincial Normal School of Heze plain. Renamed First Normal Heze, Shandong Province 1952. Transfromed into Heze Teachers College 1958. Refounded as New Heze Teachers College 2002 after merger between Heze Teachers College, Heze Education College, Heze Radio and Television University and incorporated Heze Normal College and Heze agricultural school. Acquired present status and title 2004.
