Founded 1949, incorporating Tokyo School of Fine Arts and Tokyo School of Music established 1887. It is the most prestigious art school in Japan. The university has trained renowned artists in the different fields. The school has had student exchanges with a number of other art and music institutions in Europe and Asia.
